Ferdinand Koestler

I'm Ferdinand Koestler, a cinematographer and director of photography from Vienna.

I was born in Vienna in 1992 and have worked in film since 2009. From 2019 to 2025 I completed my bachelor's degree at the Vienna Film Academy. In 2022, my work took me to Los Angeles, as our film 'Triumph of the Actor' was nominated for a YUGO BAFTA.

For more than a decade I've had the chance to build visual worlds. As a cinematographer, I capture stories that entertain and pull people out of their everyday life for the length of a film. Alongside my work as a DP, I also work as a camera assistant and focus puller in film and television.
