‘Als er ein Star war’ zeigt zwei Tage aus dem Leben eines ehemaligen Kinderstars. Vor fast 20 Jahren spielte er, damals mit neun, die Hauptrolle in einem großen Sci-Fi-Blockbuster. Nachdem ihm damals die mediale Aufmerksamkeit zu viel wurde und er Schwierigkeiten in der Schule bekam, hörte er mit der Schauspielerei auf. Heute versucht er, sich neu zu definieren. Allerdings erschweren Hasskommentare, Fans, die ihn in der Öffentlichkeit erkennen, Journalist*innen und der ständige Vergleich mit seiner Kollegin Natasha dieses Vorhaben. Und über allem schwebt immer noch seine übergriffige Mutter, die ihm damals noch voller Hoffnung die Rolle besorgt hatte.

‘Heir of the galaxy’ depicts two days in the life of a former child star. Almost 20 years ago, at the age of nine, he played the lead role in a major sci-fi blockbuster. Overwhelmed by the media attention at the time and facing difficulties in school, he quit acting. Today, he is attempting to redefine himself. However, this endeavor is complicated by hate comments, fans who recognize him in public, journalists, and the constant comparison with his colleague Natasha. And looming over it all is his intrusive mother who had secured the role for him back then, full of hope.
